Privacy Statement for Popham Movements

This Privacy Statement explains how Popham Airfield
(“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and stores personal information in connection
with the Popham Movements mobile application (the “App”).

This App is intended to help pilots view current airfield information and submit
aircraft movement bookings for Popham Airfield. If you also use our website,
separate website privacy and cookie notices may apply to general website browsing.

What information we collect

Depending on how you use the App, we may collect or process the following information:

  • Aircraft registration
  • Aircraft type
  • Pilot name
  • Persons on board / passenger count
  • Movement type (for example, Book In or Book Out)
  • Location information entered in the booking form, such as where you are flying from or to
  • Date and time of the movement
  • The anti-abuse security question and answer used to verify a booking request
  • Technical information sent as part of normal internet requests, such as IP address, request metadata, and server logs

The App also stores some information locally on your device if you choose
to use those features, including:

  • Saved aircraft profiles
  • Recent flight history created from bookings submitted through the App

The App can also retrieve public operational data from our systems, including:

  • Airfield status
  • Recent public aircraft movements
  • Location suggestions
  • Previous aircraft details linked to a registration number, where available

How we use your information

We use the information described above to:

  • Process and record aircraft movement bookings
  • Operate and support the App and related booking service
  • Help users complete booking forms more efficiently
  • Provide saved-profile and previous-flight features on the device
  • Protect the service against misuse or malicious submissions
  • Maintain security, troubleshoot issues, and administer the service
  • Comply with legal, regulatory, operational, and safety obligations

What the App does not currently do

  • It does not require a user account or password
  • It does not currently use advertising SDKs
  • It does not currently use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs
  • It does not collect precise device location from your phone or tablet

Local storage on your device

Saved aircraft profiles and previous-flight history are stored locally on your device
to make the App quicker and easier to use. This information is not shared from your
device unless you actively submit a booking.

You can remove local information by deleting saved profiles in the App, clearing the
App’s data where your device allows this, or uninstalling the App.

Connectivity checks

The App checks whether your device appears to have an internet connection so it can
warn you when remote booking is unavailable. This is used only to support App
functionality and is not used for advertising or profiling.

Legal bases for processing

Where UK GDPR or similar data protection laws apply, we generally rely on one or
more of the following legal bases:

  • Our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the airfield movement booking service
  • Processing necessary to provide the service you request when you submit a booking
  • Your actions and choices when you use optional local device features, such as saved profiles
  • Compliance with legal, regulatory, safety, and administrative obligations

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information:

  • Within our organisation where necessary to operate the booking service
  • With hosting, infrastructure, IT support, or service providers acting on our behalf
  • Where required by law, regulation, court order, or lawful request from an authority
  • Where necessary to protect rights, safety, security, or the integrity of the service

How long we keep information

Booking information submitted through the App may be retained for as long as reasonably
necessary for operational, administrative, safety, security, and legal purposes.

Local profiles and local flight history remain on your device until you delete them,
clear the App’s data, or uninstall the App.

Technical logs may be retained for a limited period for security, troubleshooting,
and system administration.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information, but no internet-based
service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should only use the App on
devices and networks you trust.

Your rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access
to personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction,
objection, or data portability.

Children

This App is intended for pilots and airfield movement use and is not designed for
children.

posted at this page with a revised effective date.
