Journey Perspective Gauge
The gauge is the signature SpeedWise visual. A green lozenge represents the selected journey distance. A white marker represents the current reference time. A red section works backwards from the current marker to show time saved by travelling 10 mph faster. A blue section works forwards to show extra time if travelling 10 mph slower.
Why it works
The red and blue sections are proportional to time difference, not speed difference. As speed increases, the red section shrinks towards the current marker. The user can see diminishing returns instantly.
Core calculation
Journey time = distance / speed. Time saved = current time – faster time. Extra time = slower time – current time.
